(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) Paintings are highlighted by the Spelunker Potion, Magic Lantern, Spelunker Glowsticks, and Spelunker Flares. Their tooltips generally contain a person's name, apparently intended to credit each painting's artist although the names appear to be fictional, most of them correspond to known Terraria developers, artists, testing staff, and community members ( see Trivia below). Each one is a framed image that depicts a particular scene, usually Terraria-related. Paintings are decorative furniture items that can be placed on background walls.
